  A Journey of my Dream

I was born in a middle class family on 31 July 1960 at Rohana Kalan, Muzaffarnagar (UP). My father was a Foreman in Rohana Sugar Mills. I am the 4th child of my parents. I was an average student in my school days.
Despite keen interest in drawing I have chosen the science and biology as my core subjects this was my biggest mistake. Obviously it had happened due to lack of guidance. I marginally passed in the subjects eg. in high school I got 44% marks and in Intermediate I got 43% marks. Hence I could not get admission in any diploma course. So I took admission in ITI Muzaffarnagar in Instrument Mechanic trade. But then I was more determined for my career so I got 70% marks in ITI.
In 1981 I joined UPSEB as an apprentice, and cracked NTPC tech. trainee exam during this job. Then my career is actually started with Technician-Trainee at NTPC Singrauli in 1982. During my training period at Singrauli I met with Engineers of my age. They inspired me to become an engineer. I saw a dream to become an engineer. But my qualifications were not matching with my dream. So I decided to study more and tried to take admission in AMIE and IETE for graduation but I could not take admission in any graduation course.
In 1987 I got married with Smt Sudha Devi, had two sons Saurabh in 1988 and Vaibhav in 1990. In 1995 I got transferred to NTPC Dadri, the dream to become an engineer was in my heart. So I started pursing my dream and took admission in evening classes of Government polytechnic Ghaziabad for Diploma in electronics engineering. But 4 years of completing this course was not that easy. Timing of classes was odd 6PM to 9PM, college is located 24km away from my work place. I attended all classes despite winters and no good transport, sometimes I returned at home after 10pm. Finally I received my diploma in 2006 and that day was the happiest day of my life.
My dream was clearly visible to me just in front. The same year NTPC tied up with BITS Pilani for distance education. I tried hard, prepared well for admission test and got admission in Power Engineering. and it is a coincidence that when I was in final year, my elder son Saurabh was also in final year of his B Tech. Younger son Vaibhav was also in B tech 3rd year.
My both sons are well settled and married to very talented spouses. My both daughter in laws Charu and Damini are working in reputed MNC. I have a beautiful house at Ghaziabad.
Finally “My dream Come True” in 2010 and I got promotion to Engineer Grade and posted at NTPC jhajjar. Now I am going to be retired on 31st july 2020 as Deputy Manager from NTPC . I had made my retirement plans.
I want to thank my family, friends, teachers and Almighty God to give me strength and support to achieve my dreams. Contributions of my wife Smt Sudha Devi in all my endeavors are priceless and she shares all credits of my achievements.
                                                                  ---Tries Never Fails---
